"So that the random swells and repetitions of the felts from 1970, gradually bloomed in the later '70s – and never so directly as in House of the Vetti (1983) – into the explicit petals of the uncanny body.
It is perhaps the brilliance of these works that the meticulousness of their 'system,' as in the repeated, supple bands of Untitled (Inverted Shoulder) (1978), is now able to restage the image of Minimalist seriality under the sign of the uncanny and the repetition of the repressed. So that the later felts conduct a rereading of Minimalism by entering its own series into a new one, which in turn may enter into yet a newer one, and so on … "
